EDG Australia (EDG) to support complex decommissioning project offshore New Zealand
International engineering, design and consulting firm, EDG will provide project management and engineering services to Shelf Subsea. Shelf Subsea will be executing the Tui decommissioning project in 2022.
EDG has an extensive track record of successful decommissioning projects in the US and Gulf of Mexico in 30m to almost 1000m water depth.
Since establishing in Australia in 2013, this expertise has extended to both onshore and offshore facilities in this region.
“We are delighted to be awarded this contract,” said EDG Managing Director Alan Fotheringham.
“We understand that cost, risk management and surety of outcome are the primary drivers for our decommissioning clients, and we look forward to working with our partners to deliver integrated solutions.”
Over the years, the company has developed deep domain expertise in decommissioning projects executed in strict regulatory regimes. This knowledge is invaluable as clients strive to leave behind little if any, environmental impact once these facilities cease production.
“We wish to play our part in the energy transition, yet we are equally committed to helping our clients through late life production and decommissioning of their installed asset base,” said Mr Fotheringham.
